ssp: Uttarakhand cricketer receives ‘death threats’ from support staff, dad complains to police | Dehradun News

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand cricketer Arya Sethi (20) has reportedly received death threats from some of the state team support staff who are currently competing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament in Rajkot.
Based on the alleged incident, Sethi’s father, B. Sethi, filed a complaint with the SSP office in Dehradun.
“My son was beaten and abused by the coach. I had informed the CAU Secretary of this incident and he ignored it. Later, my son was called to a room alone by a coach, a video analyst and a manager where he received death threats. As a parent I am very concerned as he travels with the team across the country with these people. Only time will tell what personal animosity they have with my son. As of now, I have filed a written complaint with SSP (Dehradun) and CAU office members,” the cricketer’s father said.
Speaking on the matter, CAU Vice President Sanjay Rawat said, “This is a matter of grave concern. We will carry out a strict investigation to settle this problem. Our players are the most important asset for us.
Notably, Arya Sethi made his A-list debut for Uttarakhand in the 2018-19 season. The mid-order batsman even represented India B U-19 team in the past.
