EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – On Friday, officials from the Socorro Independent School District announced that the district “is looking for highly qualified and motivated people” to fill various positions in the school district.
“Positions are open in many campuses and departments for potential new employees in the district,” HISD officials said on their website. “The district is looking for bilingual / special education teachers, crossover guards / cafeteria supervisors, and various support staff such as guards, teaching aids, child nutrition services, and transportation workers.”
Support staff are hired on contracts of 183, 187 or 239 days depending on the position. Allowances are available for educators with specialized certifications.
“SISD offers great employee benefits including board approved salary increases, weekends and holidays, paid sick leave, strong health benefits program, health clinic fully funded and on-the-job training for support staff, ”district officials added.

District officials add that applicants for substitute education only need 30 hours of higher education or more.
