The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County is a leading self-help organization that offers free events, educational classes, support groups and other programs that address mental health for the community of Wood County.

NAMI Wood County offers a variety of programs throughout the year that are free and available to all Wood County residents.

To meet the demand for programming, NAMI Wood County is seeking individuals interested in becoming a Support Group Facilitator. Currently, the organization is looking for people with lived experience to facilitate their family support group for people who have loved ones with mental health issues.

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

The NAMI Wood County Family Support Group meets once a month in the evening for approximately 90 minutes. Training and supplies would be provided to people who would become facilitators.

If interested, contact Crystal Heft, Associate Director of NAMI Wood County via email at [email protected] Interested persons can also consult the list of volunteers on Facebook, LinkedIn, Volunteer Match or HandShake.

NAMI Wood County continues its NAMI Connection Recovery support group in a hybrid model every Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The peer and family support group is currently rescheduled for Thursday, March 10. The group will meet on this date from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. pm, in person at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg.

Other support groups, including the family support group and parents and guardians, are postponed until further notice.

Visit www.namiwodocounty.org for more information and to register for their programming. Email [email protected] or call 419-352-0626 for more information, and follow NAMI Wood County on social media at @NAMIWoodCounty for additional resources and updates.
