Miller Takes Reign of 71st Mission Support Group> Air Education and Training Command> Post Display

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Oklahoma. – Col. Paul Miller assumed command of Col. Anthony Smith’s 71st Mission Support Group in a ceremony July 1 at Hangar 129.

Miller joined the Vance team after touring as a Retail Operations Assistant for the Defense Logistics Agency headquarters in Fort Belvoir, Va.

Smith left the 71st MSG for Air Mobility Command Headquarters at Scott Air Force Base, Ill..

As the commander of the 71st MSG, Miller is responsible for $ 550 million in flight operations and base operations contracts and all support to the Vance mission and community. This includes purchasing, civil engineering, firefighting, security and law enforcement, communications, personnel, procurement, transportation, housing, recreation and services.

“I can’t wait to be a part of Vance’s tremendous mission,” Miller said. “Our Air Force recently focused on the pilot production pipeline. This attention reflects the importance of this mission for our service and the Ministry of Defense. “

Miller holds an MA in Strategic Studies from Air War College, Maxwell AFB, Alabama, and an MS in Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida.

His decorations include a Bronze Star, a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and a Meritorious Service Medal with seven oak leaf clusters.

“During my few days in command so far, it has become immediately evident that the 71st MSG is already a phenomenal organization, full of professional airmen who are fully aligned with what the Vance team needs. them, ”Miller said.
