Mumbai: On the occasion of World Brain Tumor Day, Fortis Hospital today launched a support group for brain tumor patients. The group was formed to provide emotional support and resolve doubts related to brain tumor treatment and recovery.

It was around this time that we realized the need for a support group where people could share their challenges and experiences about normal life after recovery.

Being diagnosed with a brain tumor is not the end of the world as there are treatments that can help a person lead a stable life even after surgery and treatments. However, it becomes crucial to understand the symptoms related to brain tumors like seizures, dizziness, headaches, confusion, loss of balance, etc. and to contact a doctor as soon as possible if symptoms persist in an individual, experts have advised. About 40 patients were present for the launch, and many spoke of the difficulties they had encountered and how certain techniques provided by the doctors had helped them overcome them.

Although the recovery process is difficult compared to other illnesses or diseases, a team of experts are always present to provide the patient with the necessary medications, exercises and advice.
