Group discussions. We are all part of one, or more. But, while the topic of conversation in these group chats is ever-changing (like talking about period cramps one minute and breaking up with your partner the next minute), there’s one thing you can always count on: support from all your friends. So it makes sense that even when you’re a top celebrity, there is a support group to turn to when the going gets tough. And, according to King tiger‘s Carole Baskin, she recently joined one for the same reason.

Speaking on the Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam glyn podcast, the animal rights activist-turned-reality TV star revealed she has been invited to join a support group for traumatized celebrities.

His induction into the group came shortly after his appearance on the hit Netflix series, King tiger – which made Baskin a household name overnight. On the show, Joe Exotic (aka the Tiger King himself) accused Baskin of murdering her first husband and feeding his body to the cats at his Big Cat rescue center. Exotic’s allegations turned much of the public against Baskin, who was quickly inundated with abuse on social media and in the press.

This negative online attention led her to join the support group, the 60-year-old (who later participated in Dancing with the stars) complaints. “Someone reached out to me and said, ‘I have this celebrity group and we meet, or before COVID we would meet…” I forget what day it was [that they met each week], but they would meet once a week and they would all get together and talk about what it was like to live their life, ”she explained.

“It gave them a place where they could talk to each other,” Baskin added, revealing that the celebrity who contacted her said, “You have no idea what the press is going to do to you. They are going to be horrible. to you [people in the group] have already been through what you are about to go through and they want you to come to our Zoom meetings. “

Although reluctant to name any of the stars of the support group, among the famous “21-22” faces there was only a handful that Baskin did not recognize. But she revealed that the secret celebrity who contacted her told her that the group wanted her to join: need to go through this because it’s gonna be a nightmare. “

As for what the group’s celebrities have told her to expect from her time in the limelight, the former Dancing with the stars The candidate revealed that they encouraged her not to read news or articles about herself and to avoid reading comments on social media. “It was great advice, and I can’t thank them enough for coming so quickly to try and help me get through this,” she concluded.
